Preface

I live in Minnesota, approximately 45 minutes north of the Twin Cities. I have been raising rollers for the past five years. Though I am relatively new to the roller world, I am no stranger to the pigeon hobby. I have been raising pigeons since I was around five years old and now I am 23. Like many pigeon enthusiasts, I started out small but it grew on me and I can’t get enough. I go to sleep excited every night eagerly waiting for the next day so I can be with the birds again.

In the past I have raised all sorts of breeds ranging from Italian owls to giant Carneaus. I have even bred some for the show such as the Modena, Chinese owls, and Italian owls. After a few years of unsuccessful results in the shows, I decided to try something else. I decided to convert to pigeon in sports. I transitioned to homing pigeons. I had acquired a few decent birds from a local racer to start out with. For a whole year I raised homers and geared them for training. Unfortunately my whole year worth of work came to an abrupt end when none of the young birds made it back home from a routine training toss. At the time I was also keeping a few pair of rollers and they were the only ones left for me to play with. So I decided to give up on homers, and fool around with rollers instead.

Although I was inexperienced with the breed, I decided to do some detailed research on them. As I continue the research I began to gain interest. Not only was I amazed at their athletic abilities, I was inspired by them. I became serious and decided that I would commit to rollers. With that mentality, I began the search for some of the best rollers I can find. I spent approximately a year searching for good rollers. I was turned down from many local flyers because I guess they didn’t believe that I was serious. Fortunately, I attended a local Pigeon Show and met a generous roller flyer. We talked for awhile and he offered to lend me a hand. He agreed to select some of his top young birds for me. When I came back home, I made the commitment to sale all of I have left in the loft. Ever since I went down south to pick up my first batch of rollers, I have never looked back!

Anyways thanks for stopping by and keep them wolves flying hard!
